THEO ~ Born in Chase City VA to a military family.  Learned to read music on the clarinet in the 6th grade at Fort Meade Elementary School and played in Bluestone Junior High Band in the 9th grade.  The summer before the 10th grade at Cristobal High School, in the Panama Canal Zone, is when Theo picked up the Saxophone and performed in Symphonic Band, Community Theatre Pit Bands and in a local band performing in Clubs. Theo played Saxophone in the band at Petersburg High School his junior year and was Drum Major his senior year. Theo studied music at VSU (Drum Major) with concentrations in Saxophone, Piano, Arranging and studied Bass and Percussion under Dr. Thomas Bridge (principal violinist) of the Richmond Symphony.


 

After college Theo auditioned for the Army Band and graduated from the Army School of Music before joining the 282nd Army Band in Cola, SC; later serving with the 25th Infantry Division Band in Hawaii and the 389th Army Band in New Jersey.  Theo was Band Leader/Lead Vocalist/Keyboardist/Arranger for several Pop/Rock/R&B tour groups in different Army Band assignments before retiring with 20 years of service at the rank of Staff Sergeant .  Currently, Theo performs in the DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) with various groups for a variety of functions. Theo studied at Mannes School of Music in NYC; voice and piano under Susan Winder, Saxophone under Alan Wong and Arranging under Mark Sharmaria. Theo is a recipient of the Army Achievement Medal (2nd award), the Army Commendation Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award).
